What makes Studio 6 Haircare different?

Studio 6 Haircare was created by a hairdresser with nearly 30 years of professional experience. Our products combine thoughtfully selected botanical ingredients, plant-based oils and mineral powders to provide lightweight hair and scalp care that fits easily into everyday routines.

What makes your dry shampoo different?

Our dry shampoo uses a blend of botanical + mineral ingredients to help absorb excess oil, refresh the roots and restore natural-looking volume without aerosols. The shaker bottle is designed for controlled application directly at the roots.

What are the Hair & Scalp Mists designed to do?

Our Hair & Scalp Mists are designed to provide a daily lightweight hydration boost for both hair and scalp. They can be used throughout the day without heaviness or residue and are ideal for refreshing between washes or adding hydration to dry hair and scalp.

Can I use the Hydrating Hair & Scalp Mists on wet or dry hair?

Yes. They can be used on damp hair after washing or on dry hair whenever your hair or scalp needs a lightweight hydration boost.

Will the Hair Repair Oils make my hair greasy?

Not when used as directed. Our Hair Repair Oils are designed to provide nourishment, softness and shine with a lightweight finish.

They are primarily intended as pre-shampoo treatments, but can also be used sparingly on the mid-lengths and ends as a lightweight finishing oil.

How do I use the Hair Repair Oils?

Apply generously as a pre-shampoo treatment before washing, or apply 1–3 drops to the mid-lengths and ends as a lightweight finishing oil.

Will the dry shampoo show on dark hair?

Our formula uses fine powders that blend easily when properly massaged or brushed through. We recommend starting with a small amount and working it through thoroughly for the most natural finish.

How often can I use the dry shampoo?

Use as needed between washes to refresh the roots, absorb excess oil and restore volume.

Are your products suitable for all hair types?

Yes. Studio 6 products are designed for everyday use across a wide range of hair types and textures. Individual needs vary, so we recommend choosing products based on your hair and scalp concerns.

Are your products made with natural ingredients?

We use a combination of botanical ingredients, plant-based oils, mineral powders and naturally derived ingredients throughout the Studio 6 range. Every ingredient is carefully selected for performance, feel and everyday use.

Are your products vegan?

Yes. All Studio 6 Haircare products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

Do your products contain silicones or sulphates?

No. Our formulations are free from silicones and sulphates.

Where are your products made?

All Studio 6 Haircare products are made in New Zealand.

Do your products help with hair growth or thinning?

Studio 6 products are not designed to treat hair loss or thinning. Our range focuses on everyday hair and scalp care, including hydration, nourishment and supporting overall scalp condition. Maintaining a well-cared-for scalp is an important part of supporting healthy-looking hair.

Can I use your products during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Our products contain essential oils. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting your healthcare professional before use.

How long will a bottle last?

Usage varies depending on hair type and frequency of use. Mists typically last 1–2 months with regular use. Oil longevity varies depending on whether it is used as a pre-shampoo treatment or finishing oil, while dry shampoo longevity depends on application amount and frequency.

I see Benzyl Alcohol on your ingredient list. Won't that dry out my hair?

Not at all.

Not all alcohols behave the same way. Some alcohols, such as Alcohol Denat. and Isopropyl Alcohol, evaporate quickly and are often associated with a drying feel.

The Benzyl Alcohol used in our Hair & Scalp Mists is different. It is an aromatic compound that occurs naturally in some plants and fruits and is commonly used in cosmetics as part of preservative systems.

We use a very small amount as part of our preservative system to help keep our mists fresh, stable and safe during use.

Unlike fast-evaporating alcohols, it isn't included to dry the hair or scalp.

Our mists are water-based and formulated with ingredients such as aloe vera, rosemary extract, green tea extract and panthenol (Provitamin B5) to provide lightweight hydration and leave hair and scalp feeling refreshed.
