Hi, I'm Jaime, founder of Studio 6.

After 30 years behind the chair as a professional hairdresser, I've seen first-hand how common concerns like dryness, scalp discomfort and weaker-feeling hair have become.

Over the years, I also noticed that many products focused only on the hair itself, while the scalp was often overlooked. I wanted to create products I could genuinely recommend with complete confidence, using thoughtfully selected botanical and mineral-based ingredients, with every ingredient chosen for a purpose.

That is what inspired me to create Studio 6 Haircare.

I carefully developed each formula, drawing on guidance from both a herbalist and a cosmetic chemist. The result is a collection of lightweight botanical products designed to support a healthy scalp while caring for your hair, using ingredients selected for their purpose and performance.

I also come from a family of bakers spanning three generations. My dad owned bakeries throughout his life, and today my brother continues that tradition in the bakery our dad last owned.

Growing up, I watched the care, patience and pride that went into everything they made. Seeing that passion for craftsmanship taught me the value of creating something with your own hands and never compromising on quality. That mindset is one of the reasons I choose to handcraft every batch of Studio 6 Haircare here in beautiful Wairarapa, New Zealand, taking care with every step, from selecting ingredients and refining formulas to making the finished products.

Every formula begins with one simple question:

Would I happily recommend this to the people who sit in my chair or use it on my own family?

If the answer is no, I keep working on it.

One of the greatest joys of being a hairdresser has always been seeing someone leave my chair feeling happier and more confident than when they arrived. Life is busy, and we often spend so much time looking after everyone else that we forget to take a little time for ourselves.
