About Studio 6 Haircare

After 30 years behind the chair as a professional hairdresser, I've learned that healthy-looking hair starts with more than just the hair itself.

I've seen the difference that good haircare can make, but I've also seen how often the scalp is overlooked. I wanted to create products I could genuinely recommend to the people who sit in my chair, using carefully chosen botanical and mineral-based ingredients, with every ingredient there for a reason.

That is what inspired me to create Studio 6 Haircare.

I developed each formula with guidance from both a herbalist and a cosmetic chemist, bringing together professional hairdressing experience with thoughtful formulation. The result is a collection created to care for both hair and scalp, while making everyday haircare feel a little more considered.

Made with purpose

I come from a family of bakers spanning three generations.

Although my grandad passed away when I was a baby, baking has always been part of my family's story. My family has owned bakeries throughout the years, and today my brother continues that tradition in the bakery our dad last owned.

Growing up, I watched the care, patience and pride my dad, and now my brother, put into everything they made. They taught me that when you create something with your own hands, you should care about every part of it and never compromise on quality.

That same mindset is part of Studio 6 Haircare.

I handcraft every batch here in beautiful Wairarapa, New Zealand, taking the same care with my products as I would with the hair of someone sitting in my chair.

Every formula begins with one simple question:

Would I happily recommend this to the people who sit in my chair or use it on my own family?

If the answer is no, I keep working on it.

From refreshing Hair & Scalp Mists and lightweight Hair Repair Oils to botanical Dry Shampoo and Woodland Legend Beard Oil, my goal is simple: to create products that feel good to use, are made with purpose, and are products I can genuinely stand behind.

More than haircare

One of the greatest joys of being a hairdresser has always been seeing someone leave my chair feeling happier and more confident than when they arrived.

Life is busy, and we spend so much time looking after everyone else that it's easy to forget to take a little time for ourselves.
